Strathaven is a historic town in South Lanarkshire, south-west of Hamilton, located in the Avon valley. The Avon Water is not far away but it is the Powmillon Burn that runs through the town centre.
These are my photos of Strathaven taken over the years on four separate visits.
Photographed on 10th October 2006.

Photos taken by Rozsa Halls in the car park of Common Green, 29th February 2024.
The photos were taken on our first ever visit to this park on the 20th September 2020 during the seesaw of lockdown conditions during the Covid-19 epidemic of 2020.This park has won several awards. After lockdown, it is difficult to see how it would be without restrictions. Activities were mainly closed. The volunteers running the Miniature Railway had several running days during August and early September apparently but this was cancelled from mid-September following further restrictions in Lanarkshire. I was pleasantly surprised to see so many family groups all socially distancing from each other group. They were not wearing masks but we were greeted with a smile and a hello and people were enjoying themselves.

We were at Strathaven Park again on the 27th June 2021 after more lockdowns and apparently coming out of a final lockdown, after widespread vaccination of the population. The park was very busy, the ice-cream shop and toilets were open. More importantly, the Strathaven Miniature Railway was running. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. A few photos:
