The Scottish Smallholder and Grower Festival, a very well-organised and successful event, was held on the 28th September at the Lanark Agricultural Centre. Details of the event can be found on their website.
The Festival had very comprehensive coverage with presentations, a trade exhibition, sales of produce and crafts, and competitive classes for fleeces, crafts, crook-making, produce and baking. Classes for livestock included poultry, ducks, pigs, sheep and goats. Cattle were represented by by the Societies for Dexter and Highland Cattle with live animals but there were no cattle classes.
