Turfholm, Lesmahagow

Turfholm is one of the oldest roads in Lesmahagow. Traffic from Abbeygreen crosses Turfholm Bridge to join Turfholm which eventually becomes Abbeygreen Road at the foot of the hill up to the more recent housing developments at the top of the valley. Next to the Nethan is Turfholm Industrial Estate which originally contained an important nylons factory. This now is used for the manufacture of the famous brand of confectionery, Gardiners of Scotland. There are a number of other units on this estate.
